Cheese Reviews: Part 2

We picked three very different types of cow's milk cheeses for my second installment of tasting notes (the first is here). Unfortunately, I suspect our local cheese shop mislabeled the first selection - so much for my methodical cataloguing. Andante Dairy in Sonoma, CA does not offer a product named Alto (and none match up in appearance, either); other cheeses by that name are definitely not of the washed-rind, raw-milk variety. No matter: it's not one we would (knowingly) buy again, as it didn't meet the bar set by my gold standard of washed-rind raw-milk cheese (Hudson Red).

Good timing. Are you aware that today is National Cheese Lovers Day?

Oh ya, straight away I knew the Wilde Weide had to be the best of the three. I love a good hard cheese. Straight up with a glass of wine. That's all I need :)

I was going to say the same thing as Vanessa - happy National Cheese Lovers Day!

Shame on BL for mis-labeling, though.

Omg I love this. That first cheese is my absolute fav! Smelly, but SO rich and delicious. XO
