Macaron-making at DessertTruck Works

In need of a refresher on making macarons, last night I took a class at DessertTruck Works. The recipe we learned was different than the one I was taught at One Girl Cookies, so I'm eager to try it out at home and see if I can replicate the results. (Because the directions specify to let the macarons dry out for several hours before baking, the shells we filled and we took home were baked in advance and swapped in for the ones we piped onto Silpat.)

I was reminded of how adorable DessertTruck Works is; we rarely get to the rather inaccessible Lower East Side any more.

Holy revamped blog, Kate! Looks awesome! Loving the larger photos.

I too have been dying to take a cooking class. Perhaps you, me and Becca can make a date out of it sometime?

After a disastrous macaron attempt last spring, I've sworn off making them myself (though I am very intrigued by the idea of drying them out on the cookie sheet for a few hours...).

Loving your new blog look!
